What is Morpheus8 Skin Resurfacing?

Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to provide deep skin tightening, wrinkle reduction, and facial and body resurfacing.* This FDA-cleared treatment is ideal for the lower face (jowls), and areas of the body, like arms or bra fat rolls. Morpheus8 is the first and only treatment to mold the fat deep in the dermal layers to “morph” and remodel skin tissue.

How does Morpheus8 Skin Resurfacing work?

The Morpheus8 skin resurfacing device utilizes tiny micro-needles that carry radiofrequency (RF) energy as deep as the subdermal layers of the skin. When the micro-needles create microscopic puncture wounds in the superficial dermis, the body is forced to produce new collagen to heal itself. As collagen is being stimulated, the Morpheus8 device simultaneously delivers RF energy at depths of up to 4mm (which is deeper than any other device on the market) to help remodel the adipose fat in the subcutaneous level of the skin.

By applying fractionated RF energy to targeted areas, we can tighten deeper layers of the skin and reduce wrinkles. Radiofrequency energy is a scientifically proven method for wrinkle-reducing and deep skin tightening.* Treatments are minimally invasive, with almost no downtime. After your session, you should see improved skin complexion and texture for a more radiant and youthful appearance!*

Scars and Acne Scars

The nature of scarring is such that every scar responds differently. We often customize every treatment, utilizing a combination of RF microneedling and/or various lasers to address different forms of scarring. A series of treatments may include a combination of modalities as the scars heal and the skin is regenerated.

Prepare For Your Treatment

Discontinue the use of retinoids one week prior to the treatment. No sun exposure for two weeks before and after treatment. No fillers in the treatment area 4 weeks before treatment.

When Should I Expect to See Results?

Optimal results may be achieved in as little as one treatment, but we recommend a series of treatments conducted over several weeks.* During your consultation, Dr. Rubinstein can assess the condition of your skin, including its tone, texture and laxity to make create a custom treatment plan.

How Many Treatments Are Recommended?

Depending on the condition that is being treated, multiple sessions may be required with an interval of 4 to 12 weeks between treatments. A series of 3 sessions is most commonly recommended to achieve desired results after which time maintenance treatments are recommended to maintain results as the skin ages.

Is There Any Downtime?

It is normal for our patients to experience 3-5 days of healing (from the mild redness and swelling), but treatments come with little to no downtime. We always encourage our patients to wear sunscreen in general, but if you receive a Morpheus8 treatment you should avoid direct sunlight for the next 3-4 weeks. You will be able to apply makeup 24-48 hours after your treatment, along with an SPF 30 or above.
